Winter is upon us and so is the ice at Willow Creek reservoir. As of Dec. 22nd 2017 there was 10 inches of ice formed on the lake near the west side with a half an inch of snow on top. The fishing has been lights out for rainbow trout and on occasion you will come across a few browns. Tungsten jigs in pink and bright green have produced some aggressive bites tipped with wax or meal worms. For some of the bigger fish try using kastmasters or HD Ice lures to entice the big one. Kokes have been a bit more difficult to find, but this time of the year they are not as easy to locate. Check Colorado Fisher frequently for more up to date reports on your favorite lakes and rivers.
